Roblox Shirt Template Diagonal Lines: Does Resolution Keep Them Connected?

In this editor test, a proportionally matched thin diagonal had six blank pixel rows in the saved Shirt PNG when its source was 150 × 150, but zero when its source was 600 × 600. That held at both 45% and 60% Image size. A three-times-thicker diagonal had zero blank rows at either source size. For delicate diagonal art, inspect the downloaded PNG; source resolution and stroke width can affect the saved line even when its outer size stays the same.

Blank rows are a defined pixel test, not a claim about visibility on a Roblox avatar.

What we drew and measured

We generated transparent square PNGs with one red 45-degree line from one-third to two-thirds of the canvas in both axes. The small canvas was 150 × 150; the large canvas was 600 × 600. We compared a thin line of 1 versus 4 source pixels and a thicker line of 3 versus 12 source pixels. Each large-source dimension was four times its small-source counterpart, so the artwork's proportions matched.

Each of the four source drawings was freshly imported into this site's Shirt editor at 45% and 60% Image size, dragged to the TORSO FRONT center, and saved with Download PNG. All eight files measured 585 × 559. We counted red pixels with alpha at least 128, then counted rows between the first and last red row that contained no qualifying red pixel. The threshold makes the comparison repeatable; it does not judge human readability.

The thin 45% exports shared x 150–233 and y 213–296 red bounds; the thin 60% exports shared x 136–247 and y 199–310. In other words, the thin line's outer footprint was unchanged by source resolution at a fixed Image size, while its thresholded coverage changed. At 45%, the larger source yielded 156 more qualifying red pixels (250 minus 94) and removed six blank rows. At 60%, it yielded 118 more (334 minus 216) and again removed six blank rows.

A practical check for diagonal artwork

  1. Preserve the editable original. Keep the line or lettering as a separate element so you can change its stroke width.
  2. Export from the real Shirt canvas. Import the PNG, position it within TORSO FRONT, set Image size, and use Download PNG. The editing preview is not the saved raster.
  3. Inspect at native pixels. Open the 585 × 559 PNG at 100% and examine the diagonal for interruptions and uneven coverage. Also view it at the size your audience will see.
  4. Change one variable. If the line breaks, try a higher-resolution source with proportionally matched art or widen the stroke. Keep the same final placement and compare exports; our thicker-line pair had no blank rows.
  5. Test the garment in Studio. Roblox recommends using a Block Avatar rig before uploading or selling classic clothing. Apply the exact downloaded file and check front and angled views.

Limits: These are synthetic red lines, one diagonal angle, two source sizes, two stroke widths, two Image size settings, and an alpha-128 cutoff. A blank row does not by itself prove a disconnected-looking line at display size, and zero blank rows does not establish good appearance. We did not test typography, other angles, Roblox Studio rendering, or Marketplace acceptance. The method supports claims about these eight saved PNGs only.

Sources and reproducibility

The project retains the browser test script and decoded result JSON in its audit folder. The eight-way comparison, pixel calculations, graphic, and revision workflow were produced for this page.
