Roblox Shirt Template Letter O: A Saved-Export Preview Test
A letter O still changed pixels in every tested 64-pixel preview, but that alone does not prove its inner opening stays readable. From two fresh Roblox shirt template exports, the weakest cream/slate checker placement gave 917 qualifying pixels for normal Arial and 1,386 for bold Arial. Use the saved PNG and inspect the letter at native size before relying on a small monogram.
A qualifying pixel differs from the same blank background by Euclidean RGB distance ≥128. This is our analysis rule, not a Roblox specification.
Controlled saved-export comparison
We drew an original red capital O on a transparent 150 × 150 image, centered at (75, 75), in 90-pixel Arial. The only source change was normal versus bold font weight. Each image was imported into this site's Shirt editor, set to 45% image size, positioned on the FRONT panel, and downloaded as a 585 × 559 PNG. We cropped the 128 × 128 FRONT square at (128, 191), then smoothly resized it to 64 × 64 pixels.
For each saved export we tested white/charcoal and cream/slate four-pixel checkerboards across all 64 x/y placements in an eight-by-eight grid. Solid white was the control. We compared each rendered preview pixel to the corresponding blank background pixel. Two exports × three backgrounds × 64 placements produced 384 readings. The full generator and phase readings are in the project audit.
| O source | Background | Minimum | Maximum | Mean | Zero placements |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Normal | White / charcoal | 952 | 977 | 964.5 | 0/64 |
| Normal | Cream / slate | 917 | 937 | 927 | 0/64 |
| Normal | Solid white | 1,014 | 1,014 | 1,014 | 0/64 |
| Bold | White / charcoal | 1,413 | 1,435 | 1,424 | 0/64 |
| Bold | Cream / slate | 1,386 | 1,406 | 1,396 | 0/64 |
| Bold | Solid white | 1,456 | 1,456 | 1,456 | 0/64 |
The weakest bold cream/slate result exceeds the weakest normal result by 469 pixels, or about 51% of the normal minimum. This primarily measures larger colored area from the heavier glyph. The white/charcoal count changes by 25 pixels across placements for normal weight and 22 for bold. Cream/slate changes by 20 for either weight. A nonzero count means colored signal exists; it does not show whether the O's hole remains open or whether a viewer reads the character correctly.
Check your own letter before upload
- Make two transparent copies of one letter, changing only weight or stroke thickness. Preserve their source files.
- Import each into the Shirt editor at identical size and position; download both actual Shirt PNGs.
- Crop the same FRONT region. Roblox's Creator Hub specifies a 128 × 128 FRONT panel for classic Shirts.
- View each saved crop at the small size you expect people to see. Check whether the enclosed opening is still separate from the letter body on both light and dark surroundings.
- Test the downloaded Shirt image on an avatar in Studio, following Roblox's classic-clothing guidance. Record how the letter looks from the front and an angle.
Scope and sources
This browser test used one letter, one font family, one color, one panel placement, one resizing method, and one numerical cutoff. We did not test human recognition, the counter opening directly, or Studio rendering. The measured advantage should not be treated as a universal font-weight recommendation. The source images, saved-export procedure, and all phase readings are retained in audit/2026-11-02-letter-o-test.mjs and its results JSON.
